Feedback Detail

Paper Reviewed: "Architecture as Business Competency" by Ruth Malan and Dana Bredemeyer, January 2004.

Feedback from Claire Streb, Real Time Enterprises, Inc.

"I found the paper useful, and I think the following additions would improve the paper:

1) An architect must have complete buy-in from management. This includes, among other things, a budget and the right tools to perform the job.

2) An architect must be business-savvy, an excellent communicator, and open-minded.

3) There needs to be traceability between requirements and architecture and between architecture and low-level design. Doing this not only helps the project/product, but communication between the business groups as well."
