Sub-projects and Volunteers

1. HelpMatch.net collaboration environment

HelpMatch.net collaboration environment tool selection and setup. Identify collaboration tools (wiki, blog, other) that we need, identify hosting service requirements, propose and steer tool selection decisions through community review.

Stage I. Set up HelpMatch.net and enable distributed meetings

Volunteers:

  • Jarvis Ka (Jarvis has done most of the work here! He has set up the wiki and the blog. Thanks Jarvis!)
  • Craig Cody
  • Carl Ozkaynak
  • Al de Castro
  • Ruth Malan

Stage II. Assess forward-looking collaboration environment needs

Assess forward-looking collaboration environment needs: HelpMatch.net will need to support the very distributed team of teams that will architect, build and deploy HelpMatch. We need an identification of all the different types of collaboration/distributed project support we need, along with the capabilities we need from tooling to support those collaboration needs. One way to address this, would be to write some scenarios around different collaborative work styles we will need to support. Another (not independent) way to do this is to identify the different types of collaboration tools and what capabilities they support. What we want to end up with is the cross product of these.

I think either there is a paper already published on this that we can leverage, or it is a paper we should write. It doesn't make sense that this should get done over and over again in every distributed architecture team in the world! So the place to start is looking for such papers. If you know of comparative assessments of collaboration environment needs and the applications that address them, please do point us to them! Or volunteer to help us work on the report that does this assessment for the community at large.

2. HelpMatch.net vision

Articulate the initial vision and create the artifacts that everyone can use to communicate and "sell" the vision.

Volunteers:

  • Ruth Malan
  • Al de Castro
  • Barry Crist
  • Craig Cody
  • Jarvis Ka
  • Carl Ozkaynak
  • Jerry

3. HelpMatch.net use contexts and use scenarios

Identify and describe possible use contexts and scenarios to explore how HelpMatch could be used. We will use these as input to visioning, initial scoping and value modeling.

Volunteers:

  • Ruth Malan

To sign up, please contact Ruth Malan. Also, if companies want to get involved, please contact Ruth Malan, who, for now at least, is coordinating getting HelpMatch organized.
